My name is Juan Francisco Ascencio, I was born in Usulutan, El Salvador. I arrived in Los Angeles, California in 1983 during El Salvador’s civil war. I was raised by my single mother, Petrona Ascencio. I have one sister and two twin brothers. I attended Ulysses Grant High School in North Hollywood. I am married to Ana Daysi Ascencio, we have been married for 26 years. We have four children, three boys and one girl. I was ordained deacon in June 2008. I have been involved in many Youth Ministry groups around the Archdiocese and I have coordinated many spiritual retreats in various Parishes. My volunteer work includes: feeding the homeless and visiting orphanages in Tijuana Mexico where I spend time with them and also donate food and clothes to them.
